a bout de souffle

this is something else i learned how to do in my photo transfer class. it's a gel medium transfer. you basically take a photocopied picture and coat the image w/ gel medium (not too thick.) you lay it face down on the surface you want the image transfered to and make sure to burnish it so that the image transfers evenly. wait for it to dry and then rub the paper off w/ warm water and a sponge. all that will be left is the image (reversed, of course.) how cool is that?? this is an image of jean seberg on a tile. i put a thin layer of tissue over it and coated it with a thin layer of gel medium. i didn't wait for it to dry long enough, that's why there are torn bits, but i ended up liking the rustic look of it!

how does one get an art studio? You can always use my spare room. Chakita would love to have you. So would Frisky.
