this was my first visit to castillo de san marcos in st. augustine, florida (the oldest city in the u.s. founded in 1565 by spanish settlers.) i've always felt a connection to st. augustine. perhaps it began in the spring of 1980 when this picture was taken. pictured: my uncle lawrence, my adorable young mother, me, my dad with too much hair on his head, my uncle johnny and my aunt gloria bernadette.
